Modern Idolatry

Idolatry is anything tangible or intangible that takes the place of God. If it robs us of our time with God it has become our god.

It usually represents power, prestige or beauty. It can come in the form of sports stars, celebrities, cars, pastors that are held in too high of a regard, cell phones, internet, i-tablets, i-pads, mp3’s, anything electronic or non-electronic, such as newspapers, outdoor activities, indoor activities or anything seeming good that causes you to forget who you are in Christ, also ignoring the possibility that God would have you do something else because you are self-involved with something good.

The very thing we choose to worship other than God will destroy us.

Satan has rewarded himself by proceeding to destroy our lives when we choose something to place above God. Satan’s agenda is to dethrone God from the throne of our hearts, and when we become focused on something other than God; Satan will become our god. Behind every idol, behind everything that is worshiped other than God is Satan lurking as the god of this world.

The payment for sin is death. Sin is rebellion against God; and rebellion against God is as witchcraft (worship of Devils), therefore as God has promised the sinner must be destroyed.

God Knows that if we are left to ourselves we will self-destruct so He has a plan made from the beginning of time to redeem mankind. The price has been paid when He as Jesus Christ offered Himself as our ransom for sin. We must clearly accept the sacrifice of Jesus on our behalf to be lifted out of the pit of sinfulness and rebellion. We no longer need to live under the dominion of sin. No longer do we need to pay tribute to the minions of the devil by getting caught up in the revellings of society along with its debased behavior. God Cares For You!
