What is Truth? Is it my truth, or is it your truth?
The question of what truth is has been asked by millions, it has been asked by kings, religious leaders, etc... Many of these have their own variants of or definitions of Truth.
Jesus said,"I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life".
Jesus did not say "I am the embodiment of Truth". He said, "I am the Truth".
The difference between being the embodiment of truth and being the Truth is simple. The embodiment of Truth is the act of taking up and portraying a characteristic vs. being the Truth is being the Truth! All Truth emanates from the person of Christ, and without Him we have what we call situational truth (which isn't truth at all).
Truth and Mercy are inseparable.
When we try to separate Truth from Mercy, we have undermined both of them and by default will create a false god and false gospel.
Don't get hung up on "standing for truth" in the absence of Mercy, Love, and Compassion. 1 Corinthians 13:1 says "the gift of prophecy without love is like a sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal." By definition.... If we try to share the truth without Love it is pagan religious intoning and a call to war.
