You Are The Salt of The Earth

If the salt has lost its taste, is it able to be used as salt?

Salt is a multi-purpose substance used many times to enhance flavor or to preserve something. It is also used at times to cleanse a wound.

The term salt of the earth is referring the salt that is used for flavor enhancement. If we are the salt of the earth, how do we make the earth better?

In order to understand how to apply salt we must first understand the nature of that which is to be salted as well as the nature of the salt which is to be applied. We may think that because the Word of God says we are the salt of the earth and because the message we bring will be offensive that we can just dump the salt onto whatever needs salted. My friends, that will burn and will turn the tastiness into an unpalatable substance. On the other hand, we may risk the flavor by watering the message down which will result in the disappearance of the truth within the message creating a message that is both false and without hope. So then, having established the necessity of distributing the right amount of salt to the situation and in the right place, we move on to the methodology of the distribution. The Word of the Lord came yet again and said "Let your speech be seasoned with grace". If grace must necessarily be a part of our every word, then it must also accompany every conversation. How many times failures present themselves. "Guard my lips, Oh Lord! Set a watch before my mouth lest my words turn away someone from your face."
