God's Law, Written on Your Heart

We say God’s Law is written on our heart when it isn’t. We are merely living by what we know the Word of God says as the way to live, but it isn’t in our hearts.

We tell ourselves, “Our desire is to do what’s right”; but when reality hits we revert to our sinful nature. Even if we can discipline ourselves in the Laws of God and live them out accordingly, they aren’t born in us by His Spirit. We haven’t made God’s Laws really relevant to our heart. We judge ourselves by our appearance of holiness, when our heart isn’t “beating” like God’s heart. We create a “good” form of living based on God’s Laws, but don’t follow the spirit of God’s Law, nor do we know the voice of God. We are used to reaching to externals that are proclaimed as God’s heart.

Living by God's Law, the way He designed it, isn't legalism. It is living the right way, by His Spirit who has written God's Law on your heart. Living by God's Law the way He designed it brings life and freedom to your soul.

Seek out the heart of God! Ask Him to overshadow you with His Spirit to give life to His character, His heart within you. Ask Him to write His laws on your heart.

Remember, it's not about making you look good; it's about glorifying God with your life.
